In agreement with this, the brain appears as a complex frequency analyzer, an oscillatory system merged with the environment. They naively consider they control everything, since they have in their hands a few formulas that they trust summarize the universe. New phenomena will require new actions, new funding.

This forces us to live in a somewhat chaotic mental world, since many phenomena have not yet been explained. They are piling up in a corner of the human mental egregore. Some believe thoughts and feelings are only objects, figments of imagination that emerge from physical conditions.

These people live in fear of the unknown and wish to feel the firm ground under their feet. Whatever problems arise, they believe science will solve it. The world is ours to use and abuse, and science will help us. This science, created by us, is inevitably in the image of human imperfections. Both science and religion have codes of belief. Both proceed from different aspects of the brain to appraise life. Science, unknowingly, uses tools from the emotional level and from the logical level with an emphasis on the logical. Depending on people, on their maturity, motivation and experiences, some will lean more on one side than the other, and never be complete. However, a new trend surfaces. In the same manner electricity becomes magnetism, science is becoming metaphysical. Is it really surprising when we know Moses grew up surrounded by the Egyptian and then the Babylonian cultures? The universal laws expressed in the Kabbalah, of course, predate Moses and even the Kabbalah itself. One intriguing aspect of the superstring theory is the concept of extra dimensionality. Extra dimensions consist of dimensions of both space and time. Could there be other dimensions not affected by time and space? Potential dimensions? According to the latest in M-theory, an extension of string theory, the higher dimensions are not affected by time. Time is a dimension in itself, so it only applies in the lower dimensions.

Said differently, for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. We also know that nothing affects the speed of light in a vacuum. This light is an electromagnetic radiation ranging in wavelength from the shortest—the gamma rays—to the longest—the radio waves, which have the lowest energy photons.

The earth bathes in these energies. They contain a higher energetic level. In comparison, gamma rays have a higher energetic content than visible light. Translated by analogy to a human being, the subtler aspects will consist of higher energies, endowed of a natural propensity toward denser ones. The subtler aspects consist of higher energetic properties with stronger informative potential and stronger effects although these will take longer to manifest in the denser world.

Emotions have a high energy content and are somewhat closer to the physical world than ideas. Hence, they motivate us toward action more rapidly than ideas can. We also know that the molecules of a solid are not free to rotate or to move through space, but they can oscillate, storing energy in that manner. These become charged elements, opposed in time and complementary in space since the receiver can eventually become the giver. Indeed, Charles-August de Coulomb, in the late eighteenth century, observed that charge manifests itself in two opposing forms.

This discovery led to the well-known axiom that like-charged objects repel and opposite-charged objects attract. Of course, the aspect or element that gives its energy can eventually become a receiver of energy. These are always, we should remember, in comparison of one aspect to the other in time, but not an absolute. This is also the realm of the physical world known matter , which does not mean that one day we will not find something more energetic than gamma rays.

All scientific theories are built upon a certain perception of what matter is. This determines our present point of view of the world, our conceived and accepted ideas. Those ideas are not an absolute. To look at the example of temperature again. The coldest temperature possible as established by science is At that temperature energy has been totally extracted from the atom. We do not know the warmest temperature, which must have been during the Big Bang. Contrary to dense matter, temperature, as we remember, does not affect light in a vacuum. Light is above matter, energetically speaking.

It appears to me as the highest science since it takes into account the amazing uniqueness of nature. This is what Pauli, Jung, Bohm and many others were searching for. Thus, we can change as the environment changes. We humans have the greatest effect and control on this environment.

We can therefore control our own evolution, for better or for worse. It is a serious responsibility, and implies that the cautionary principle should be used in all actions directed toward the environment. In a sense, God has nothing to do with it. He already did His work. We now live the unfolding. Roles are predetermined.

Who fulfills them and how well is not. The system is unchanging in its structures and functions. The objects of its application, however, can evolve. They are not distinct, but rather flow from one to the other, as would the different colors of a rainbow. To continue with the rainbow analogy, purple would be analogous to the symbolic aspect, and red, more materialized, to the physical one.

If we join two rainbows together to complete a circle, we can observe that the purple is central and the red peripheral diagram 4. The symbolic aspect—some would say spiritual—is consequently the center of our being, the Self. This most condensed aspect of ourselves, and thus the most receptive to higher levels of energy, is the medium we use in this world.

It is not the origin but the consequence. It is the grail of our symbolic level psyche. If the body is a crystallization of those subtler aspects, then its features should be linked to, and the expression of, these subtler aspects. Many ancient traditions developed their medicine around this concept. My own experience is with the theory of the law of the five elements pertaining to TCM. DeBavelaere in medical biocybernetics, as well as results from the most recent brain research and my own observations.

This understanding of the five elements seems to have been with humanity since its beginning. This is, in fact, a holistic knowledge system by which we live, similar to that of our ancestors when science and religion were still united. It is a science and a religion combined, as they should be; a way of life. The research and consideration pertaining to it provide a better understanding of our personal and individual natures on different levels. I did not create a melting pot, but sought the skeleton that every tradition dresses up, depending on time and political and social developments.

This is the sieve I was referring to previously diagram 5. This skeleton projects in nature itself. Of course, this system does not belong to a country, a race, an association, a school, or a person. It simply is, in the same way the elements in nature are, in the same way physical laws exist. It is universal.

It can be expanded on to the infinite, which is what many cultures did, but the essential aspects remain the same. Someone said that all the great religious traditions have many points in common not because they are right or refer to the same God, but because they emerged from the same cells within the brain. It is an astute observation and has some obvious truth in it. Similarly, radios all emit sounds when currents goes through them.

It could similarly apply to science to explain both its findings and limitations. Quite the opposite. We all manifest ourselves through the same natural laws, the same type of brain, the same biosystem, so all our creations more or less have these same imprints and limitations attached to them. The wonderful thing about this is that genius can be understood or at least felt by all of us. It can awaken dormant knowledge and help accelerate our evolution. If two people are in affinity with the same model, they are also in affinity with each other.

This is what religion tries to achieve. This also explains the necessity for a society to look toward a same model to succeed in strengthening its social fabric. It is the zeroth law of thermodynamics xxvi i i applied to our psychology. We can observe that we have developed elements that do not make sense in a uniquely emerging and Newtonian-type evolution. Take this notion of sacrificing for something that does not positively affect our lives, genetic pool, or the lives of our close ones.

Sacrificing for an idea or the future, for example. This becomes more apparent with the development of the prefrontal lobe, although we can find the structure of sacrifice in lower orders of the animal world, such as in the world of insects. The bee will sacrifice itself for its community, and the ant has a second digestive pouch for the benefit of hungry nest mates. In the same way, a vampire bat that had a successful night of feeding will regurgitate blood for its less fortunate companions.

In the animal world, we find numerous stunning displays of sacrifice to protect and provide the best care for off spring. Where does sacrifice fit in? As the acorn of the oak tree contains the blueprint of the mature oak tree, for every kingdom potentialities are all in the gene genetic or in the Master of the Heart epigenetic. These potentialities include, for every kingdom, the feminine polarity. Are we only shaped by opportunity, or is there a direction to evolution?

In accordance with the evolution of the universe, it seems that the most evolved is also the most energetically efficient, needs little but the most subtle fuels. The fact science found that those humans who eat less live longer points in this direction. It appears that, unlike dinosaurs, the most evolved can process adequately different types of energies or information as well as vast quantities of them. Nature also seems to favor multiplicity and uniqueness.

Spring 47 We can see this through the example of the hummingbird. Hummingbirds are the second most diverse bird family on earth, they can fly backward and are the only birds to do so, they are brightly colored, their wings are hollow and fragile, and it is a mystery how they survive. These little birds can fly nonstop km miles! I believe so. We know that only the mutations that are best adapted have remained. The question is, best adapted for what? The LIFE biosystem points to the answer.
